My Story
Colin Baldwin is the founder of Paratus Training. He established the company to provide a training option for individuals and companies to access quality training that focuses on job-ready outcomes, not just certificate competencies. Colin has over 25 years of instructional and vocational training experience. He is focused on quality learning outcomes and responding to client requirements to meet the contemporary needs of the workplace.

His path started in the military where he was a trade qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic working on the armoured fleet of vehicles where he then moved to aviation after graduating Royal Military College, Duntroon as a rotary wing pilot where he progressed into operations management and then as a lead planner for the multi-national task force in Afghanistan. During this time, he built and led high–performing teams in complex regulatory and operating environments.

After moving from the military Colin has moved to Business Management and Consulting with Birchman Group. During his time as a management consultant, he developed the training strategy for the Bankwest Business Division comprising 1068 employees during the Bankwest Business expansion programme.

Colin also developed the training program within Cooperative Bulk Handling for each department for client engagement and call centre restructuring and expansion to support the new ‘virtual’ logistics model. He eventually moved on to a Mining Support Company as the Training Manager and developed training programs in Mongolia and delivered behavioural safety programs for major mining clients.

Colin is still serving in the Army Reserve where recently, Colin was the Officer in Charge of Civil-Military Liaison Team between Defence, Police and Government as part of the COVID-19 Taskforce. His current role is the head of compliance and operational airworthiness for one of the Command Groups advising Operational Commanders in the use of crewed and unscrewed aviation assets.
